The idea was to document life on the Congo River—a lifeline for millions of people in Congo, DRC. Barges travel on the 900-mile-long journey between Kisangani and the capital Kinshasa. Pettersson traveled for five weeks with 500 people and numerous livestock under difficult conditions.
